Food services

The Food Pantry Program serves more than 600 families and individuals each week, providing nutritious food assistance to low-income residents from Boston and surrounding communities. Participants receive a supply of healthy groceries designed to help meet their household needs for approximately three days, including fresh produce, proteins, dairy products, and pantry staples when available. By addressing food insecurity and ensuring access to nutritious meals, the program helps families maintain their health, reduce financial stress, and improve their overall well-being while fostering a stronger and more resilient community.

The Home Food Delivery Program extends the Food Pantry’s services to older adults and individuals with disabilities who face challenges accessing food distribution sites. Serving more than 35 participants, the program provides weekly deliveries of nutritious groceries directly to their homes, ensuring they receive consistent access to healthy food while maintaining their independence and well-being. By eliminating transportation and mobility barriers, the program helps vulnerable community members remain food secure, healthy, and connected to essential support services.

Workforce Development

The Workforce Development Program at One Community Support provides an integrated pathway to economic opportunity by combining English language literacy, computer literacy, and job readiness training into one comprehensive program. Participants strengthen their English communication skills, gain essential digital competencies, and develop the practical tools needed to succeed in today’s workforce, including resume writing, online job applications, interview preparation, workplace communication, and career planning. By addressing language barriers, bridging the digital divide, and building employment skills simultaneously, the program empowers individuals—particularly immigrants, low-income residents, and underserved community members—to secure meaningful employment, advance their careers, and achieve greater self-sufficiency.

Youth Media programs

The Youth Media and Academic Enrichment Program empowers young people through a combination of educational support and creative media training. The program provides tutoring and homework assistance to help students strengthen their academic performance, build confidence, and achieve their educational goals. In addition, participants gain hands-on experience in photography and videography, learning technical skills such as camera operation, composition, lighting, storytelling, video editing, and digital content creation. Through project-based learning and mentorship, youth develop creativity, communication skills, teamwork, and leadership abilities while exploring potential career pathways in media, technology, and the creative industries. By combining academic enrichment with practical media arts training, the program helps young people build valuable life skills, express their voices, and prepare for future educational and professional opportunities.
